Man Charred to Death as Parked Car Catches Fire Near Dhoni-Mundur

A man died after a parked car caught fire on Thursday afternoon near Arimani Estate on the Dhoni-Mundur stretch. Around 4 p.m., locals saw the car engulfed in flames by the roadside. When they checked, they found a man sitting in the driver's seat. The fire was very intense and initial attempts to put it out failed. Fire and Rescue Services arrived later and extinguished the blaze. Police identified the car through its registration as belonging to someone from Velikkad near Mundur. They could not reach the owner immediately but contacted his relatives. The vehicle was filled with petrol from a nearby fuel station around 3 p.m. A detailed investigation is underway to confirm the man's identity and the cause of the fire. The Hemambika Nagar police will file a case after completing their preliminary inquiry.
