AP Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav Accuses Jagan Mohan Reddy of Blocking Medical Development
December 18, 2025
Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav on Thursday accused former Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of deliberately stopping development and misleading people with "irresponsible protests and false propaganda." At a press conference, Satya Kumar condemned threats made to companies building medical colleges. He challenged Jagan to seek a CBI inquiry or take legal action if he has proof of any wrongdoing. The Minister supported the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model used to develop medical colleges. He said this model, an NDA policy, was also used under previous YSR and YSRCP governments for services like ‘108’, Aarogyasri, and Cath Labs. Satya Kumar said ₹6,000 crore was spent on NTR Vaidya Seva in 18 months. He also highlighted the NDA’s plan to provide medical coverage up to ₹25 lakh for 1.4 crore families. The Minister accused the previous YSRCP government of corruption in scholarship schemes and hospital construction. He dismissed claims of fund misuse and said PPP hospitals would increase medical seats and help poor patients. Satya Kumar called Jagan’s allegations politically motivated. He warned that such acts could weaken the YSRCP party. He also stated that the YSRCP government never sent AYUSH proposals to the Centre. Lastly, he denied that ₹300 crore was spent on the yoga day event in Visakhapatnam, saying it was funded by the Centre.
