The swearing-in ceremony for newly elected local self-government members in the district will take place on December 21. The district panchayat oath will be at 10 a.m. in the district panchayat hall. The Corporation’s oath ceremony starts at 11:30 a.m. at QAC Ground. District Collector N. Devidas will administer the oath to the senior-most member in both bodies. Then, the first sworn-in senior member will administer the oath to the other members. For grama panchayats, block panchayats, and municipalities, respective Returning Officers will conduct the oath-taking. After the ceremony, the first meeting of all members will be led by the member who took the oath first. During this meeting, the secretary will read the Election Commission’s notification about upcoming elections for chairperson, president, mayor, and deputy mayor posts.
