Oman and Turkiye Activate Visa-Free Travel for Citizens from November 2025
December 24, 2025
Oman and Turkiye have started a new visa exemption on November 1, 2025. Citizens from both countries can now travel without applying for visas before their trips. Omanis can visit Turkiye for up to 90 days within 180 days for tourism. Turkish citizens can visit Oman visa-free for 30 days per visit, not exceeding 90 days in total within 180 days.
This rule applies only for tourism and short visits. Passports must be valid for at least six months after entering the country. Business or long-term stays still need permission.
The agreement follows talks between Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkiye at Al Alam Palace. Erdogan called it a "significant milestone" that will help businesses and public sectors.
This visa deal complements 16 other agreements covering military, mining, energy, and media cooperation. Oman and Turkiye also created the Oman–Turkiye Coordination Council to ensure smooth implementation and economic benefits.
Oman’s visa-free move aligns with its global efforts, having similar agreements with Russia and Armenia to encourage tourism and cooperation.
This new visa-free travel opens doors for easy tourism, family visits, and cultural exchange between Oman and Turkiye.
