Telangana Doctors Demand Salary Bill to End Delays, Seek TVVP Shift to DGHS
December 25, 2025
Doctors in Telangana have raised alarm over repeated delays in receiving their salaries. The Telangana Government Doctors Association (TGGDA) has called on the government to introduce a Bill in the upcoming Assembly session starting December 29. This Bill aims to bring the Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad (TVVP) under the Directorate of Secondary Health Services (DGHS). Several doctors say they have not yet received their salaries, even though the payment date is the 25th of each month. The association stated, "Any further delay in introducing the Bill would only push thousands of government doctors into continued uncertainty and financial distress." They believe the permanent solution to the salary crisis is to remove TVVP from the corporation system and place it under DGHS. The association added, "We hoped that the long-awaited reforms would finally materialise and that doctors working under TVVP would receive a permanent solution to their salary issues. However, contrary to expectations, the situation has worsened and become increasingly distressing." Despite repeated notifications to officials, no clear action has been taken, according to a press release. The doctors have urged the government to establish a system that guarantees salary payments on the first day of each month. They warned that without this, they are prepared to start further protests or actions.
