The fifth Beypore International Water Festival started on Friday, packed with fun and entertainment in Beypore and nearby areas. Water sports take center stage with activities like banana boats, bumper rides, kayaks, and donuts available from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. until the festival ends. The International Kite Festival adds a splash of color to the Beypore skies. MLA Ahamed Devarkovil inaugurated the kite event featuring participants from countries like Indonesia, Vietnam, Oman, Turkey, and Mauritius along with many Indian states. Kites shaped like horses, tigers, and national flags soar, with competitions in stunt kites, 3D kites, and shows from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Winners will be announced on the final day. Hundreds visited the Navy ship INS Kalpeni at Beypore port, exploring the ship’s decks and security areas. The public can also browse navy merchandise such as jackets and caps. The ship is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Para-motoring thrilled visitors as gliders soared above Beypore marina, with shows running from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. led by experts Salim Hassan and Xavier Thomas. Other attractions on day one included fun boats, windsurfing, and a laser peacock show. Day two promises sailing regattas, boat races, flyboard and surfing demonstrations, and a food festival at Parisons Ground. Martial arts, gymnastics, and cultural programs will entertain crowds at Oceanus Chaliyam starting from 5 p.m. A responsible tourism festival also began at Nallur Mini Stadium, featuring a musical night at 7 p.m. Additional attractions include a gazal event, theatre festival, magic and mentalism shows, and rhythm nights at various parks and venues nearby. The Beypore International Water Festival is a vibrant celebration of water sports and cultural delight until it concludes.
