Telangana STF Busts Nine with Synthetic Drugs, Cannabis, Liquor, and Illegal Jaggery in Hyderabad Raids

The Telangana State Task Force (STF) of the Excise and Prohibition Department arrested nine individuals in different cases during enforcement operations in Hyderabad on Saturday, December 27, 2025. Authorities seized synthetic drugs, cannabis, liquor, and large quantities of illegally transported jaggery.
In Beeramguda, STF-C raided following a tip-off and seized 1.4 grams of MDMA. Two men, Thota Hanmanthu and Bappanna Pranay Sukumar, were arrested. The team recovered a scooter, mobile phones, and the narcotics. The items were handed to Ameerpet Excise Station for investigation.
Another operation saw STF-A and STF-C teams checking buses from Bengaluru near Hyderabad outskirts. They seized 10 grams of OG Kush, 101 grams of ganja, and five bottles of liquor from Karnataka. Hamid, Arif, and Harish were arrested and taken to Serilingampally Excise Station.
Related to illegal jaggery transport, STF-A seized two big consignments suspected for illicit liquor making. A mini-van to Devarakonda carried 2,016 kilograms of jaggery and 100 kilograms of alum. Arrested were Gattu Venugopal and Venkataiah along with the vehicle.
In another case, a rented car heading to Achampet was stopped. Officials seized 600 kilograms of jaggery and 100 kilograms of alum. Srinu and Shankar were arrested, and the vehicle was confiscated.
All persons arrested and seized materials were handed over to their respective excise stations for further legal action.
