The Andhra Pradesh government has acted after widespread public outrage over the birthday celebrations of YSRCP chief and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. Reports said some YSRCP leaders and cadres engaged in violent and disturbing activities. Authorities registered cases against 13 people, including a YSRCP-supporting sarpanch, and detained several others. The controversies appeared in Puttaparthi, Dharmavaram, and Gopalapuram where offensive banners were removed, and legal steps started, said officials from the Chief Minister's Office. Further reports revealed that YSRCP activists intimidated citizens at multiple locations. Pregnant women were allegedly attacked. Public animal sacrifices were conducted, with blood smeared on Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy's banners and portraits. Flex boards showed him armed with knives and had slogans pushing destruction. Complaints flooded the police, leading to several case filings. Animal sacrifices reportedly happened in Kalyanadurgam, Uravakonda, and Singanamala areas. In Raptadu, a sheep was sacrificed and blood poured on a former MLA's banner. A YSRCP worker kicked a pregnant woman, Sandhya Rani, upset by noise from bow-and-arrow displays. The accused is now under police custody. Officials warned that strict action will follow against such behavior.
