The Congress party will create monitoring cells to support governing committees in all local bodies under its control in Ernakulam. District Congress Committee (DCC) president Mohammad Shiyas said these cells will include senior party leaders, experienced administrators, and retired officials from local institutions. "It will be ensured that governance was carried out in the interest of the people and the community," Mr. Shiyas said. Currently, the United Democratic Front (UDF) holds 71 grama panchayat presidencies in the district. Mr. Shiyas added, "The administration would be conducted in a manner suited to contemporary times, rather than following traditional methods." He warned of strong action against anyone trying to destabilise or weaken the governing bodies. Also, he said, "If disputes or differences of opinion arose in administrative matters, a mechanism would be created at the party level to resolve them." "Corruption-free governance would be ensured," he emphasized. This step aims to improve the efficiency and integrity of local administration in the region.
