BJP Leader Demands Longer Telangana Assembly Session to Address Key Issues
December 28, 2025
Bharatiya Janata Party legislature party leader Alleti Maheshwar Reddy on Sunday, December 28, asked for a longer winter session of the Telangana Legislative Assembly. He wants detailed discussions on many public issues. Mr. Reddy spoke to the media at the party’s State office. He said there were fears that the session, starting Monday, might end in two or three days. "Several pressing concerns need sustained deliberation," he said, especially issues affecting farmers. He claimed farmer suicides continue and said the government did not fully fulfill its promise of ₹15,000 under the Rythu Bharosa scheme. Instead, assistance was limited to ₹12,000 for only one season. Mr. Reddy also raised worries about irrigation. He said the government has not held a full debate in the Assembly on interstate water sharing from the Krishna and Godavari rivers. Talking about urban development, he questioned the government's promotion of real estate projects called ‘Future City’. He asked if the Chief Minister is ready to discuss this in the House. He also wants clarity on debates about alleged attacks on temples and the Endowments Department’s work. Mr. Reddy accused the government of harassing employees by proposing to merge the RTC. He questioned why no action has been taken against alleged irregularities from the previous regime. He also said the plan to end elected Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies and replace them with political appointments is a conspiracy.
