Between December 19 and 27, a total of 4,42,070 people submitted Form 6/6A applications to be included as electors in Tamil Nadu. On December 27 alone, more than 2.56 lakh people visited polling stations to submit these applications. This surge followed the Election Commission of India's organization of booth-level special camps on December 27 and 28, aimed at helping citizens file claims and objections after the draft electoral rolls were published on December 19 as part of the Special Intensive Revision. These special camps will be held again on January 3 and 4, 2026. The claims and objections window stays open until January 18, 2026. Additionally, 4,741 people submitted Form 7 applications to seek exclusion of ineligible voters. Nearly 2.72 lakh Booth Level Agents (BLAs), appointed by six national and six state parties, are assisting in this process. As of December 27, the BLAs of DMK and AIADMK submitted 24 inclusion applications each. AIADMK and BJP submitted 63 and 1 exclusion forms, respectively. No applications have come from persons other than electors of the Assembly segments. The Election Commission had published the draft electoral rolls for Tamil Nadu on December 19, which deleted nearly 97.37 lakh electors from the previous voter list of 6.41 crore. This revision now brings the total electoral count to 5.43 crore.
