He also added that some suspects might face immigration actions, including denaturalization and deportation. The scandal came to light sharply with a video by YouTuber Nick Shirley. He showed a so-called learning center in Minnesota that received $4 million in state funding but had no real activity. The center’s signboard even misspelled "learning" as "learing." When confronted, a woman guarding the center yelled at Shirley to leave, fearing immigration agents. This clip caused a big stir online. Vice President JD Vance praised Shirley’s work, calling the fraud a "microcosm of the immigration fraud in our system." He said, "Politicians like it because they get power. Welfare cheats like it because they get rich. But it’s a zero sum game, and they’re stealing both money and political power from Minnesotans." Minnesota Republican Rep. Tom Emmer demanded answers from Governor Tim Walz, saying, "$4 million of hard-earned tax dollars going to an education center that can’t even spell learning correctly.
