Dense Fog Cancels 128 Flights, Delays Nearly 200 at Delhi Airport

On Monday, December 29, 2025, dense fog at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport caused major flight disruptions. An official said 64 departures and 64 arrivals were cancelled. Additionally, eight flights were diverted. Flight delays affected nearly 200 services, with average departure delays hitting around 24 minutes, according to Flightradar24.com. Delhi airport operator DIAL posted on X that runway visibility is improving but some disruptions continue. IndiGo also noted, "Fog continues to persist across Delhi and several airports in northern India. Visibility remains reduced and, as a result, flight movements are presently slower than normal, with some delays being experienced." IGIA, which handles about 1,300 flights daily, is working through the weather challenges.
