The cyber crime wing of Hyderabad Police has expanded its investigation into the iBomma piracy network. They discovered that the main accused, Immandi Ravi, used fake identity documents to run the piracy site and avoid detection. Ravi allegedly created fake credentials in the name of Bengaluru-based professional V. Prahlad, who has no ties to him. Officials confirmed this misuse after contacting Prahlad, who said his identity was used without permission. Police are still determining how much money was made through accounts opened with these forged documents. So far, authorities have frozen assets worth about ₹3 crore linked to the accused. Investigators are examining digital evidence, including server logs and payment records, to find Ravi’s partners and understand the full scope of the piracy network. The probe is ongoing.
