Karnataka Sahitya Academy, together with Kannada Studies Centre and Bangalore University, will hold a three-day study camp titled ‘Dalit Literature and Movement-50’. It will run from January 2 to 4 at the Venkatagirigowda Auditorium, Bangalore University’s Jnanabharathi campus. Writer Kotiganahalli Ramaiah is the director of the camp. Writers D. Saraswathi and Subbu Holeyar serve as co-directors, while Ravikumar Baagi, an academy member, is the convenor. Jayakar S.M., Vice-Chancellor of Bangalore University, will preside over the programme. The event will be inaugurated by L.N. Mukundaraj, president of Karnataka Sahitya Academy. Poet and Dalit activist H. Govindaya will deliver the keynote address. Discussions will focus on the journey of Dalit literature and the Dalit movement, their impact, and present status.
