A private sleeper bus traveling from Hyderabad to Mysuru crashed into a toll booth in Devanahalli early Friday. Five people, including the bus driver, were injured but are out of danger. The bus, registered in Madhya Pradesh and operated by Tranz India Travels, hit the Kannamangala toll booth on the Airport Expressway. Authorities say the driver, Irfan Ali, 28, from Bengaluru, was speeding and may have been drowsy, causing the accident. The front and right side of the bus were badly damaged. The injured are Pradeep, 25, from Mysuru; Akanksha, 23; Narasimha Rao, 50, from Telangana; Harshita, 25, from Hassan; and the driver. Local residents have called for the removal of the Kannamangala toll booth, which has been unused for over two years and poses a safety hazard.
