Kerala Govt Sanctions ₹3 Crore for Hi-Tech Sports Complex in Perumanna
January 2, 2026
The Kerala State government has given the green light to build a hi-tech sports complex at Perumanna in Kozhikode district. The project will cost ₹3 crore. MLA P.T.A. Raheem announced that the complex, named after Mangathaya Kesavan Namboothiri, will be in Ward 7 of Perumanna grama panchayat. "The project will be implemented on 15 cents of land, including 10 cents donated free by the Mangathaya Kesavan Namboothiri family and 5 cents bought by the panchayat," Raheem said. The complex will have modern amenities such as an indoor stadium, a swimming pool, and a convention centre. It will serve both training and community activities. Funds are allocated in the 2025–26 State Budget based on a detailed project report by the panchayat. Once done, the complex will offer better sports facilities in the area, create more chances for young athletes to train locally, and host public events.
