Around 20 schoolchildren were injured when an overloaded private bus carrying about 60 students overturned on Friday evening. The bus, from Sri Vivekananda School in Moddulagudem village, was heading to Ganeshpadu village in Penuballi mandal, Khammam district. It was taking students home when the driver lost control at a risky place near Ganeshpadu. The bus flipped and fell into a dry irrigation canal. Despite the crash, the packed bus occupants escaped serious harm. At least 20 students suffered minor injuries. Police said the bus was speeding when the accident occurred. This accident is similar to another one earlier the same day in Bhadradri Kothagudem district where a private engineering college bus crash injured 30 students.
