NIA Brings Red Fort Blast Accused to Shopian; J&K Police Attach Terror Handler's Property in Poonch
January 3, 2026
On January 2, 2026, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) moved an accused in the Red Fort blast case, Yasir Dar, to Shopian in South Kashmir for further investigation. Multiple NIA teams searched a forest area in Padpawan, Shopian, following Dar's questioning. Dar, a Shopian resident, was arrested on December 18, 2025, in connection with the Delhi bomb blast where 15 civilians died on November 10. Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Police attached a property in Poonch belonging to Jamal Lone, alias Jamala. Lone is a Pakistan-based terror handler currently evading legal process and declared a proclaimed offender by court. The attached property is six kanal and 13.5 marlas in size with a value of about ₹13.36 lakh. Police said Lone is actively involved in activities against India's security and sovereignty. The move is part of a broader plan to cut terror networks’ financial and logistical support, ensuring those involved in terror and anti-national acts lose their resources.
