January 4, 2026
The Haryana State Commission for Women took notice of the gang-rape of a 25-year-old woman in Faridabad on January 4, 2026. Commission Chairperson Renu Bhatia demanded a detailed police report and updates on actions taken. She said, "I have spoken to the victim's family, and we will provide all necessary assistance to her." The victim is being treated by Dr. Amit Yadav, who confirmed, "A surgery of her face was carried out on Saturday (January 3, 2026) to fix the deep wounds sustained on her face. After the consent of the woman, the surgery of her fractured right shoulder will be carried out." According to police, the woman visited a friend's house in Sector 23, Faridabad, on December 29, 2025. Returning home late at night, two men, including an ambulance driver, offered her a lift but instead took her towards Gurugram. She was gang-raped inside the moving vehicle. The attackers drove her around through the night and then abandoned her near Raja Chowk in Faridabad around 3 a.m. December 30. She was admitted to a private hospital and remains hospitalized six days later. Police arrested the two accused men, one from Mathura and the other from Jhansi, and sent them to judicial custody. Authorities plan to hold an identification parade once the woman recovers, followed by further questioning of the accused.
