Police Nab 11 Kg Ganja on Ernakulam Express at Ongole Station

The police seized 11 kg of ganja from three passengers on the Ernakulam Express at Ongole Railway Station on Monday, January 5, 2026. Two accused are from Tamil Nadu and one from Kerala. The crackdown was part of extensive checks on several express trains led by Prakasam District Superintendent of Police V. Harshavardhan Raju.
Women Police Station CI Sudhakar, SIs, Special Party, EAGLE Team, Government Railway Police (GRP), and Railway Protection Force (RPF) all took part in the inspections. The police sniffer dog 'Roxy' helped search suspicious parcels, passenger bags, train coaches, platforms, and parcel areas.
During inspection of train No. 18189 – Ernakulam Express heading to Kavali, police found about 11 kg of ganja with three passengers. The arrested were G. Sandil Kumar (50) and B. Murugan (28) from Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu, and Blessin (20) from Katteppana village, Idukki district, Kerala. They are now under GRP custody for further probe.
