A 52-year-old man died in hospital after suffering a medical episode during an arrest in Sydney’s west. Police were called about 8.30am Monday to a home in Homebush following reports of a domestic violence-related incident. Officers used OC spray, also known as pepper spray, while arresting the man. Paramedics treated him on site before rushing him to hospital in critical condition. The man passed away Monday evening. The incident is under investigation, and an independent review will follow. Authorities will prepare a report for the coroner. The Law Enforcement Conduct Commission (LECC) has been notified of the case by police.
