Oman has announced clear fees for applying for citizenship and giving up nationality. From January 4, 2026, anyone applying for Omani citizenship must pay OMR 600. This fee applies to foreign women married to Omanis, widows, divorced spouses, and minor children of Omani women. There is also a new fee of OMR 200 to withdraw or renounce Omani nationality. These fees aim to standardize and make nationality service costs clear to applicants. Authorities have confirmed eligibility rules and citizenship laws stay the same. The government says the new fee structure will make nationality processes more transparent and consistent across Oman. These changes were published in Oman’s Official Gazette as part of wider steps to improve nationality services.
