Police have arrested Rajesh, 39, in connection with the mob lynching of Ram Narayan Baghel, 31, a labourer from Chhattisgarh. The attack happened on December 17 afternoon at Attappallam, near Walayar. Rajesh is a headload worker from East Attappallam and was accused in five criminal cases. Authorities say Rajesh was part of the group that brutally beat Ram Narayan, accusing him of theft. The special investigation team (SIT) is leading the probe. Earlier, eight people were arrested for the incident that shocked the State. Crime Branch Dy.SP M. Gopakumar said some suspects are still absconding. The police are continuing their hunt for those involved.
