Four Students Killed in Car Crash Near Chevella; One Injured

Four students lost their lives and one was hurt early Thursday morning when their car hit a tree near Mirzaguda Gate in Chevella. The deceased are Kargayala Sumith (20), Sri Nikhil (20), Balmuri Rohith (18), and Devala Surya Teja (20). Sumith, Nikhil, and Surya Teja were studying at ICFAI Business School (IBS). Rohith was an engineering student at Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology (MGIT). All were pursuing undergraduate courses, with three from Narsingi. The injured passenger, Sunkari Nakshatra, a BBA final-year student at IBS, was taken to a private hospital in Gachibowli. According to Mokila Inspector B. Veera Babu, the group was traveling from Mokila to Narsingi. Preliminary investigation points to overspeeding as the accident cause. The car lost control, crashed into the road median, and then a tree. Authorities are still investigating the exact cause. The bodies have been sent to Chevella Government Hospital for postmortem. A case has been registered and further inquiries are ongoing.
