The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) on Wednesday honoured six children of its employees who excelled in higher education by winning gold medals. These top rankers come from fields such as medicine, engineering, science, and performing arts. Each awardee received a ₹5,000 cash prize and a certificate from KSRTC. Additionally, Minister for Transport Ramalinga Reddy gave each student ₹20,000 as a special reward. The event also highlighted the Sarige Vidya Chetana Scheme, designed to support the education of KSRTC employees' children. So far, this scheme has awarded scholarships worth ₹2.76 crore to 5,450 students.
