The Tirupati district administration has included Ubbalamadugu waterfalls in the Pulicat tourist circuit. This move comes before the Flamingo Festival 2026 at Pulicat Bird Sanctuary from January 10. An awareness rally was held from Sri Venkateswara University stadium to Nalugukalla Mandapam junction on Thursday. Tirupati Collector S. Venkateswar flagged off the rally and said, "The Nelapattu Bird Sanctuary, BV Palem boating point, Atakanithippa Bird Museum would be thronged by tourists for the next two days and hence they have been made ‘tourist-ready’." Last year, 3-4 lakh visitors attended the three-day festival. This year, the Collector expects an even higher turnout. He also announced measures to protect migratory birds at Nelapattu while supporting villagers' livelihoods. Meanwhile, Sri City and nearby industries will hold a biodiversity workshop under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Ministers Anagani Satyaprasad (Revenue), Kandula Durgesh (Tourism), and Anam Ramanarayana Reddy (Endowments) will participate in the inaugural session on Saturday.
