On Thursday, Minister for Housing, Waqf, and Minority Welfare B.Z. Zameer Ahmed Khan said 26 families who lost their homes in the Kogilu demolition drive have been identified to get government houses. He told reporters that Minister for Revenue Krishna Byre Gowda informed him about the verification. "During the verification process, 26 families were found eligible as they produced all the required documents," Mr. Khan said. He added that although 161 houses were demolished, not all affected will get new houses unless they meet all state government conditions. "To become an eligible beneficiary, families should be from Karnataka and must have lived there for five years," the minister explained.
