Israeli attacks in Gaza on Thursday killed at least 13 people, including five children, Gaza’s civil defence agency said. This happened even though a ceasefire has largely stopped the fighting. Four people, including three children, died when a drone struck a tent sheltering displaced people in southern Gaza, said agency spokesperson Mahmud Bassal. An 11-year-old girl was killed near Jabalia refugee camp in north Gaza. A strike on a school also killed one person. Near Khan Younis in the south, a drone killed a man. Two more Palestinians, including a child, died in other attacks during the day. The agency works under Hamas authority. The Israeli military said it was checking the reports. Later, four more people died in an airstrike on a house in eastern Gaza City. Rescue efforts started to find missing people after the strike. Bassal said, "The death toll has risen to 13 as a result of Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip since this morning in a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement." Earlier, the Israeli military reported a projectile was launched from the Gaza City area toward Israel but fell inside Gaza. "Shortly after, the (military) precisely struck the launch point," the military said. Since 10 October, a US-sponsored ceasefire has mostly stopped fighting between Israel and Hamas, but both sides accuse each other of breaking it. Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem told AFP, "the strikes in Gaza on Thursday confirm the Israeli occupation’s renunciation of its commitment to the ceasefire." Gaza’s health ministry says Israeli forces have killed at least 425 Palestinians since the ceasefire began. On 22 November, Israeli strikes killed 21 people, one of the deadliest days since the truce. Israeli forces say militants have killed three of their soldiers during the same period.
