Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka announced that all arrangements for the Sammakka-Sarakka Maha Jatara will be finished by January 15. This biennial festival celebrates Telangana’s tribal culture and pride. The government has allocated ₹260 crore this year, with ₹150 crore for event preparations and ₹110 crore for permanent temple structures. "This festival is not just a tribal celebration, it is the heartbeat of Telangana and a symbol of our self-respect," said Vikramarka. After inspecting the site in Medaram on Sunday, he said nearly 85% of the work is done. He urged officials to complete the rest by the deadline. Ministers Sridhar Babu, Konda Surekha, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Seethakka, and Adluri Laxman also attended and offered prayers. Funds have already been released, and bills for finished work are paid within 24 hours. The Deputy CM noted that earlier governments spent only ₹75-100 crore on the festival, highlighting the current government's increased support. He also asked Health and NPDCL officials to stay alert and treat the event with full seriousness until it ends.
