Security forces detected suspected drones moving in several forward areas along the International Border and Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday evening, January 11, 2025. The drones came from Pakistan and hovered over Indian territory for a few minutes before returning. Authorities launched search operations in Samba, Rajouri, and Poonch districts. In Rajouri’s Nowshera sector, army troops fired medium and light machine guns at a drone over Gania-Kalsian village around 6:35 pm. Another drone with a blinking light was spotted at Khabbar village in Teryath, Rajouri, coming from Dharmsal village towards Bharakh at the same time. Around 7:15 pm, a similar drone-like object hovered over Chak Babral village in Samba’s Ramgarh sector. Additionally, a drone was seen moving from Tain to Topa in Poonch district’s Mankote sector at 6:25 pm. On Friday night, security forces recovered an arms consignment dropped by a drone from Pakistan in Paloora village near the IB in Samba. The haul included two pistols, three magazines, 16 rounds, and a grenade.
