Banijay and All3Media in Advanced Talks to Create Europe’s Biggest TV Production Giant
January 13, 2026
The world’s largest independent TV producer, Banijay Group, is reportedly in advanced talks to merge with UK-based All3Media. Banijay, based in Paris, owns hits like Survivor, Peaky Blinders, and Big Brother. All3Media, owned by RedBird IMI, produces popular shows including The Traitors, Midsomer Murders, Call the Midwife, and Fleabag. If the deal happens, it would create a massive European TV production powerhouse. Reuters reported that All3Media might add funds to the merged company since it is smaller. Banijay was founded in 2008 and later merged with Zodiak in 2015. In 2019, Banijay bought Endemol Shine Group for $2.2 billion, owning shows like MasterChef, Big Brother, and Black Mirror. Today, Banijay has more than 130 production companies in over 25 countries. All3Media has 50 labels and is known for shows such as Squid Game: The Challenge and Shameless. Last year, ITV and RedBird IMI discussed merging ITV Studios with All3Media. This started Banijay’s interest in acquiring ITV Studios, but no official offer was made. Additionally, Comcast has been in talks to buy ITV’s broadcasting arm for about £1.6 billion. Banijay also gained attention after investigating BBC One's MasterChef, which led to allegations against hosts Gregg Wallace and John Torode. Wallace was removed from the show, and Torode’s contract was not renewed.
