Tickets for the Hot Air Balloon Festival in Hyderabad sold out in minutes. Telangana Tourism will release 100 more tickets on BookMyShow on Wednesday, January 14, 2026. The festival runs from January 16 to 18. Telangana Tourism Development Corporation Managing Director, Kranthi Valluru, said, "while several slots had already been booked, the department had decided to release more tickets to meet the unexpected surge in demand." These tickets cover both morning and evening sessions. Around 400 tickets were initially allocated for evening rides, and 30 for morning flights. Many festival fans were unaware of the ticket release time. Muneef, 29, from Hyderabad said, "There was no clear intimation about the timing of the ticket release. I have been regularly tracking websites ever since I read news reports about the festival. When I checked today, it simply showed ‘sold out’. I am not even sure when the tickets were released." The festival offers two sessions daily. Morning flights last 45 minutes to 1 hour, covering 8 to 10 km, with a maximum altitude of 4,500 feet. Since balloons land away from take-off points, transport will be arranged to bring passengers back. The January 16 morning flight starts at Hyderabad Golf Club near Golconda Fort, priced at ₹2,000. Locations for January 17 and 18 mornings depend on weather. Evening sessions start at 5 p.m. at Parade Ground, Secunderabad, featuring tethered hot air balloons for night-glow displays. These rides move vertically up and down. Tickets for evening rides cost ₹15. This additional ticket release aims to satisfy the rising public interest and give more people a chance to enjoy this sky-high spectacle.
