Central City Corporation sealed six paying guest facilities on Friday for failing to maintain basic hygiene and safety standards. The corporation imposed fines totaling ₹1.96 lakh on the erring facilities. Health Officer Shivakumar led the inspection team along with medical officers from Chickpet and Shivajinagar. They checked 204 PG facilities across Shivajinagar and Chickpet Assembly constituencies. During the drive, officials examined availability of safe drinking water, overall cleanliness, kitchen hygiene, toilet facilities, fire safety, CCTV installation, and food safety compliance including FSSAI certification. Six facilities were shut for not meeting the required norms, while several others faced fines for shortcomings. Awareness notices were issued to all operators, demanding correction of violations within seven days to meet prescribed standards.
