UAE Weather: Mild Winter Continues with Fog Alerts, Rain Expected Midweek
January 18, 2026
On Sunday, January 18, 2026, the UAE will continue to experience mild winter conditions. Temperatures will stay cool, with highs around 25°C. Night temperatures will dip to about 18°C in Abu Dhabi and 19°C in Dubai, says the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM). This follows a chill that started earlier this month, bringing cooler days, cool nights, and occasional early-morning fog or mist in inland areas.
The skies on Sunday will be partly cloudy across much of the country. Some coastal, northern, and eastern regions may see low clouds. Although widespread rain is not expected on Sunday, there is a chance of mist or light fog during the night and early morning, especially inland. This foggy pattern has been common this winter.
The NCM has issued weather alerts for parts of the UAE. Drivers should be cautious due to fog and low visibility at night and early morning. Strong winds and rough seas are expected in the Arabian Gulf and Sea of Oman, affecting marine activities and small boats. Dust and poor visibility may affect open inland areas when winds increase. Residents are urged to follow NCM updates and take care when traveling or going to sea.
Looking ahead to Wednesday, the weather will turn more unsettled. Temperatures will drop further with a chance of light rain in northern and coastal areas. This change is caused by low pressure and upper-air troughs. Strong northwesterly winds and more clouds will keep the winter feel alive for some more days.
