A special police team solved a year-old theft case by tracing the accused and recovering all the stolen gold. The police returned the valuables to Shankarappa during the Sankranti festival. Shankarappa from Kodigenahalli village in Parigi mandal, Sri Sathya Sai district, had reported the burglary in April last year. Thieves stole 35 tolas of gold worth ₹60 lakh from his home. The theft caused great financial and emotional trouble for Shankarappa and his three daughters. Despite the hardships, the family kept contacting the police and Superintendent of Police S. Satish Kumar. On January 19, 2026, Shankarappa and his daughters visited the district police office to thank SP Satish Kumar. The SP said, “Legal proceedings against the accused are continuing, but for the family, the recovery marked the end of a painful chapter and the return of long-lost peace of mind.” The case was solved thanks to the joint efforts of special teams and the Parigi Circle police.
