Late on Tuesday night, a serious accident occurred at around 9 p.m. near Kannari Cross in Sindhanur taluk, Raichur district. A light goods carrier traveling from Sindhanur to Ballari collided with an SUV coming from Siragumpa towards Sindhanur. The goods carrier took the full impact, killing all five occupants on the spot. The identities of the deceased have not yet been confirmed. Two others were critically injured and taken to Sindhanur Government Hospital for treatment. Police preliminary reports indicate that all the victims were from Andhra Pradesh and were transporting sheep in the goods carrier during the crash. The exact cause of this tragic collision is still under investigation. Police Inspector Vinayaka of Sindhanur Circle said, "Five people died on the spot. Their identities are yet to be ascertained. As per the preliminary information we could gather, the victims are from Andhra Pradesh and they were transporting sheep."
