Special Electoral Roll Observer Ashim Kumar Modi led a review meeting on January 23 at the Cuddalore Collectorate to check progress on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls for 2026. District Collector Sibi Adhithya Senthil Kumar and electoral officers from nine Assembly segments joined the meet. They examined draft rolls, deletions, and missing entries from 2002 and 2005 roll revisions. Four special camp days held on December 27-28, 2025, and January 3-4, 2026, saw election officials receive a total of 93,739 applications for new enrolments, corrections, and deletions. Notices were sent to 46,191 voters labeled “no-mapping” since no information was found in earlier SIR exercises. Field verification and direct inquiries for these voters have been completed. Earlier, Ashim Kumar Modi inspected SIR work at Gundu Uppalavadi and Nanamedu areas in Cuddalore. Officials revealed the Election Commission extended the application deadline to January 30 for any claims related to electoral rolls. The district administration urges all eligible citizens to submit their claims and objections before this final deadline.
