On Thursday night, a fire broke out in the Sukh Sagar shopping complex on Maratha Galli in Hubballi. Several shops, including the Metro furniture showroom on the third floor, were gutted. Police Commissioner N. Shashikumar told reporters that some passersby spotted the fire and alerted the police. Fire and Emergency Services rushed to the scene and took time to control the blaze. Nearby residents were evacuated as a safety measure. Thankfully, no one was hurt in the fire. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway. Preliminary reports suggest a short circuit might have caused the fire. Shops on other floors also suffered damage, and officials are assessing the total loss.
