Faridabad Man Arrested for Beating 4-Year-Old Daughter to Death Over Homework
January 24, 2026
A 31-year-old man from Faridabad, Haryana, has been arrested for allegedly beating his four-year-old daughter to death with a rolling pin. The incident occurred because the girl could not write numbers up to 50, police said on January 23, 2026.
The arrest followed a complaint by the man's wife at Sector 58 police station on January 22. She said her husband, Krishna Jaiswal, assaulted their daughter at their rented home in Jhadsaentli village on January 21.
Police registered an FIR under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. During interrogation, officers learned the couple both work in private companies; the wife during the day, and the husband at night. They have two daughters aged four and two, and a seven-year-old son.
Mr. Jaiswal took care of the children during the day and helped them with lessons. On January 21, he asked the four-year-old to write numbers from 1 to 50. Unable to complete the task, the child was beaten by her father, police said.
Inspector Azad, Station House Officer at Sector 58, called the accused a "habitual drinker" who often beat his wife and children. "When the girl could not complete the counting exercise he had assigned, the accused slammed her onto the floor and beat her up with a rolling pin, leading to her death," he said.
After the beating, the child collapsed. Mr. Jaiswal took her to a government hospital where she was declared dead. He then called his wife, falsely claiming the child had fallen down stairs. Suspicious of visible injuries, the wife reported the incident to police.
Mr. Jaiswal is currently in police custody for further questioning.
