Transport Minister K.B. Ganesh Kumar said the government is working actively to secure the future of KSRTC employees and their families through several welfare schemes. He made these remarks while launching a new ordinary bus service at Sadanandapuram Motel Junction on Sunday. The new bus route covers Pathanapuram, Vettikkavala, Sadanandapuram, Ugran Mukku, Kannancode, Thalachira-Pallimukku, Chakkalakkunnu, Chakkuvarackal, Kottavattom, Elampal, and ends at Punalur. The Minister revealed that KSRTC saw a significant rise of 16 lakh passengers compared to last year. “KSRTC is currently leading among other State transport undertakings in terms of operational profits,” he stated. In addition, Ganesh Kumar announced that construction for the Pathanapuram St. Mary’s Road, with a budget of ₹7 crore, will begin immediately. The event was presided over by Vettikkavala panchayat member B. Venugopal and attended by Vettikkavala panchayat president Aji Animon, several panchayat members, KSRTC employees, and political leaders.
