Chittoor district secured second place in the State-level recognition for excellence in electoral management during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The award was given to District Collector Sumit Kumar at the 16th National Voters’ Day celebration held at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram, Vijayawada, on Sunday. Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand presented the award, praising the district's effective voter mapping and smooth execution of the SIR process. Chittoor was recognized for its systematic voter data checks, precise electoral mapping, and strong teamwork by the district election officials. These efforts made the electoral roll more transparent and accurate. The ceremony was also attended by Chief Electoral Officer Vivek Yadav and former State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar. Speaking at the event, Mr. Sumit Kumar said, "The achievement was the result of coordinated teamwork by the district election administration," and promised to keep improving electoral processes.
