Telugu Desam Party leaders marked the 77th Republic Day at their central office near Mangalagiri on Monday. TDP State president Palla Srinivasa Rao unfurled the national flag electronically and spoke to the gathering. He said the main aim of Republic Day is to pass on the greatness and values of the Constitution to future generations. Mr. Srinivasa Rao said, "Those entering public life must respect the Constitution and democratic principles and should not act in ways that trample upon the rights of the people." He added, "Those in power, as well as those aspiring to assume power, must strive to implement the Constitution in letter and spirit." Party leaders Varla Ramaiah, P. Ashok Babu, Peethala Sujatha, Darapaneni Narendra Babu, Parchuri Krishna, and Valluri Kiran attended the event. On the same day, Jana Sena Party also held its 77th Republic Day celebrations at its central office near Mangalagiri. The event was led by the party’s political affairs committee chairman and Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar. Government Whip P. Hari Prasad, Chillapalli Srinivasa Rao, Kalyanam Siva Srinivasa Rao, and Gade Venkateswara Rao participated in the programme. Both parties focused on honoring the Constitution and renewing their commitment to democratic values as India celebrated its 77th Republic Day.
