West Virginia Woman Arrested for Recruiting Assassination of President Trump
January 27, 2026
A woman named Morgan Morrow, 39, was arrested in West Virginia for allegedly trying to recruit people to assassinate President Donald Trump. She was charged with one count of terroristic threats, the Jackson County Sheriff's Office said.
Deputies found out about the threat on January 25, 2026, from a public TikTok account they believe belongs to Morrow. Her TikTok post said, "Surely a sn!per [sniper] with a terminal illness can’t be a big ask out of 343 million." Officials say this message encouraged others to kill the President.
Officers from Jackson County, the Bureau of Investigations, and the Ravenswood Police arrested Morrow at her home. She admitted to writing and posting the message and said it was “intended as a threat directed toward President Donald J. Trump.” Morrow mentioned personal reasons for wishing harm on the President but did not reveal them.
Sheriff Mellinger stated on Facebook that the arrest was not political. He said threatening any public official is illegal under West Virginia law. He called the investigation serious with “documented and troubling concerns.”
The Jackson County Public Library confirmed that Morrow was one of their employees and said they are handling the situation internally.
