A man was arrested on Sunday morning for kidnapping a 23-year-old woman and attempting to rape her in the Leopard Trail area of Gurugram's Aravalli region. The victim, living in a paying guest accommodation and working for a real estate company, was returning from an event with a male friend around 3 a.m. They stopped for a walk near Leopard Trail when a young man snatched her phone and tried to flee. She chased him, but he pushed her into his Scorpio car and drove towards the forest. The woman's friend followed the car and alerted the police. Responding quickly, police caught the suspect and stopped the crime. The man was found half-naked in the car near Sakatpur village, while the woman was unconscious in the back seat. The woman refused medical examination, but police continue to investigate. The accused is identified as 25-year-old Gaurav Rathi from village Pandala, who worked as a driver and fruit stall operator. An FIR for kidnapping and attempted rape was filed at Badshahpur police station, said Inspector Vijay Pal, SHO. The accused remains in custody as the probe continues.
