The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) booked home guard Netti Srinivasa Rao for leaking secret information about the ACB's surprise searches on corrupt officers. Srinivasa Rao joined the police in Vizianagaram in 2010 and was later moved to the ACB. In June 2025, he was sent back to Vizianagaram police, but ACB kept watching him. They found he was tipping off corrupt officials before surprise checks. The ACB searched his properties in Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram. They seized two flats, a building, four house sites, 23 cents of agricultural land, gold and silver ornaments, ₹7 lakh in bank, ₹60,000 cash, and a car. A case of disproportionate assets was filed against him under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. He will be presented before the ACB Special Court in Visakhapatnam. Further searches are continuing. Separately, the ACB arrested an office subordinate from the Sub-Registrar’s Office, Renigunta, Tirupathi district, also for accumulating assets beyond his legal income. He was suspended. During searches in Tirupati and Nellore, ACB found 11 immovable properties including house sites, flats and buildings; about 1.472 kg of gold; 8.77 kg of silver; ₹15.26 lakh in cash; and a car. The accused will be produced before the ACB Special Court in Nellore, officials said on Thursday.
