Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu clarified on Sunday that his statements about the so-called "ghee scam" at Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) come directly from the National Dairy Development Board's report. At his residence, he said his only goal is to protect the sanctity of the Tirumala temple. He charged the previous YSR Congress Party government with serious wrongdoing at Tirumala and criticized YSRCP leaders for attacking his government now. Naidu announced a Special Investigation Team has been set up to probe irregularities in TTD during YSRCP's rule. "When I order an inquiry to identify and punish those responsible for wrongdoing, there are demands that I should apologise instead. This is unacceptable," he stated. Emphasizing that protecting the temple is his responsibility, he declared there would be no compromise on accountability. Naidu accused the former government of misconduct in temple management and said their counter-attacks are attempts to avoid scrutiny. He said, "I visit the temple with humility, like any other pilgrim. Ultimately, it is the Lord who watches everything." He assured that his government will act firmly against anyone found guilty in TTD affairs. Naidu stressed that faith, transparency, and institutional integrity must be maintained free from political interference.
