Hundreds Join AgriWalk in Bengaluru to Empower Farmers Ahead of Trade Fair 2026
February 2, 2026
On February 1, hundreds gathered at Cubbon Park in Bengaluru for the AgriWalk, a campaign to empower farmers as entrepreneurs. The Department of Agriculture organised the walk to highlight value addition, processing, branding, and sustainable farming as ways to boost farmers’ incomes. Minister for Agriculture N. Chelavunarayanaswamy flagged off the walk near the Bandstand in the morning. Participants passed through key city landmarks like Queens Road, Vidhana Soudha, BBMP Tower, UB City Signal, and Vittal Mallya Road before ending back at the Bandstand. Almost 4,000 people, including children, youth, women, and senior citizens, registered for the walk. A Zumba dance session warmed up the crowd before the event started. This walk is part of the build-up to the International Trade Fair 2026, set for February 6 to 8 at Palace Grounds in Bengaluru. The fair’s theme is 'Agriculture Beyond Production – Empowering Farmers'.
