Gulf Job Scams Rise: Fake Offers, AI Bots Target UAE & Saudi Seekers
February 5, 2026
Millions seek jobs in Gulf cities like Dubai, Riyadh, and Jeddah. But fraudsters are tricking applicants with fake offers in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. These scammers use social media, messaging apps, and even AI bots to fool people. They promise high pay and fast visas to grab attention. Police warn: Never pay money upfront for jobs. Real companies do not charge for visas or exams. Also, watch out for generic email addresses like Gmail or WhatsApp-only talks. Fake jobs often skip real interviews and deliver too-good-to-be-true offers. AI bots now create thousands of fake ads and even simulate automated interviews before handing over to fraudsters. To stay safe, verify job offers on government sites like MoHRE in UAE or MHRSD in Saudi Arabia. Check company licenses and contact them via official emails or phones from their website. Keep all documents and messages in case you need to report scams. If you suspect a fake job offer, stop communication and report it to Dubai Police or local authorities immediately. In 2025 alone, over 1300 companies were fined AED 34 million for fake recruitment. Stay alert, never pay fees upfront, and always verify your job offers to protect yourself in the competitive Gulf job market.
