Belagavi Police have arrested three men for pretending to be journalists and trying to extort ₹50 lakh from a woman government officer. The suspects are Sameer Nisar Ahmad Sheikh, Abdul Rasheed Makandar, and Mohammad Balekundri, all from Gokak. They installed a hidden camera in a lamp holder inside the officer’s house and recorded private videos. Then they demanded ₹50 lakh from her. The officer filed a complaint with Malmaruti Police in Belagavi. Acting on the complaint, Inspector B.R. Gaddeker led a police operation and arrested the three men from Gokak.
